Great session!
On decarbonization, is there an envisioned plan for what happens to the existing coal resources given the possible increased renewable energy penetration in the years to come?
To Dr Wright:
How does the recent (30 October 2020) NERSA media statement relating to “The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA), confirms that the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy has approved that NERSA may process licence applications for self-generation facilities of above 1MW even if they are not in compliance with the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP 2019)”
Does this approval provide what is needed as a part of what you have proposed as phase 1, unlocking of embedded generation?
